Daniel Vroman Rusteen: Best dance studio in Antigua, best studio, too. Large upper floor space with views of the mountains and Antigua rooftops. The instructors are top notch, Alberto and Flor. I've taken 14 lessons so far and plan to continue :D

I did a week of private classes with Nancy which taught me so much! Nancy is an amazing teacher and was always very patient with me and I couldn't recommend any studio more! Krystal B: If you want to learn proper form and technique this is the place to be. Nancy was very accomodating and responsive with scheduling and availability. She and Fatima will teach you how to pace yourself and move your body properly. Jose is an awesome instructor. He is passionate about salsa, has a great sense of humor whilst being professional. He pays close attention to detail and will correct your mistakes until you get it right. The whole crew has impeccable patience, takes salsa seriously and it shows. I learned so many new things in only 3 days. Great place, will return!

They take you at your own pace from basic steps to more complex turns in Salsa, and if you want, Bachata. If you are at a higher level they can train you for competitive dancing. I was almost sure that it would be our first and last class.But to my surprise and delight he loved it and for the rest of our stay in Antigua we almost had classes every day .Nancy and her children are professional dancers , very good instructors, patient and dedicated.we highly recommend them.Nancy showed us that learning to dance and enjoying it is not just for the young and thanks to her we now have a new hobby that we both enjoy . Malinda: I had 2 private lessons here with Nancy during my time in Antigua and definitely recommend this studio if you’re interested in learning or improving salsa/bachata. It’s a very professional and clean setting, the space is big and the floors are very clean and smooth for dancing. Nancy was an amazing instructor, very knowledgeable and patient. She explained concepts and techniques thoroughly and was very professional in her approach but also very personable and easy to get along with. I wish I had more time in Antigua I would definitely have taken more classes here!
A: During my one-month stay, I attended six private lessons. At first the movements were awkward, but gradually I got used to the salsa steps and enjoyed dancing. There are four teachers, the owner, her daughter and son, and a male teacher. There is also a trial lesson, so feel free to try it out. The owner is a friendly lady who always welcomes you warmly. Salsa is good exercise, and I think learning new things will broaden your horizons. it's recommended!

All the teachers are capable of explaining how your body needs to move in a way that you can improve your dancing through online classes. Best decision I ever made. 😀
Lucia Hurtado: One of a kind. If I could describe this salsa studio in one word: dedicated. The amount of instructors and the amount of attention each and everyone of them have is impeccable. Nancy, Jose, and Fatima are the instructors that have all my respects - they really saw potential in me and taught me many many things I don't think I would've known if I hadn't taken any of their classes.I had just started my salsa journey 7 months prior to stopping by at New Sensation Salsa Studio.Just to say I had MULTIPLE classes during my one-week stay in Guatemala. I took privates and group classes. Some classes I took: Ladies salsa On1 (private), ladies salsa On2 (private), Salsa On2 shines (group), bachata sensual w/ partner (private), salsa On1 ladies shine (group), Kizomba ladies (group), Pachanga (group), just to name a few...PLEASE, if you are in the area I HIGHLY recommend taking at LEAST one class. They are all beautiful people inside and out and love it when people stop by and ask for class information - they won't bite! They're all bilingual (English & Spanish) and have a MASSIVE amount of patience. Best part: you do NOT need a partner to join a class or get a private with them: just have your questions ready and they will make it work. Before your first class, make sure to bring a bottle of water, maybe a towel (for face sweat), and lots of energy to learn what they have to teach you!
Alexandra Pacheco: Nancy, Jose and Fatima are amazing teachers and also incredible people. They have touched my heart in so many ways. They welcomed me with open arms to their studio and were very accommodating. Their teaching styles push you to your limit but let you have fun at the same time. If I could take classes with them every day I would. Don’t miss the opportunity to take one of their classes.
Ricardo Fuentes: Hands down the best place to learn latin dance such as Salsa on1, on2, cuban and bachata. Teachers are international champions and are so passionate about their craft. If you really want to learn how to dance, this is the place!

Amanda Crichton: My favorite salsa studio in Antigua. They offer free group classes Mondays from 5pm-6pm, and Thursdays/Fridays at 8* pm, which are always fun. The Monday classes are more formal whereas the Thursday/Friday classes start later (hint: usually not on time) but are worth the wait. The instructors do a great job of teaching and have a great energy in general. Always a good time.I took a private lesson with Martin at the end of my stay in Antigua and it was a blast. He will meet you at whatever level you're at dance-wise and I'll definitely be returning when I'm back in town.
Petra Kelly-Voicu: I honestly could not recommend this place enough. My partner and I stayed in Antigua for 2 months, because I love dancing (3 years of experience, mostly in Sensual Bachata and some Salsa) but there is no dance studio anywhere near his hometown so I wanted to find a professional to teach him both dance genres.He had zero dance experience when we started, and 20 hours of private lessons later he learned so much and so rapidly thanks to the attention and expertise the instructors here were able to provide us. I also learned how to be a better follower and polished my technique thanks to the amazing one-on-one attention I was able to get here. We mostly took classes with Manolo, but all the instructors at Salsa Y Mas are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming.There are free group classes on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30pm, which are a great way to meet new people and to keep learning. We made some wonderful friendships here and I'm really sad to have to leave - I will definitely miss this dance school and the people!
Katie Pendred: Salsa y Mas is the best in Antigua; it is more than just a dance studio, it is a family! Martin is passionate about his students progression and is so much fun to learn from. He teaches salsa on1 and salsa on2.. when I arrived I did not dance much on2 and left dancing confidently on2. Also the owner Menolo sometimes does Rueda lessons, these are very fun and a great way to meet people! Reach out to Martin and he will give you all the info on classes! Take privates with Martin.. you will not regret it!

Erika Wasserman: The best way to learn salsa!!!! Too bad you can't upload videos here - I could show you the before and after videos! I stayed in Antiqua for 5 weeks taking Spanish classes in the morning and salsa in the afternoon both with private lessons with Martin and with group classes (Thurs,Friday,Sat nights). Martin provides a positive dance environment that makes you feel like you can dance the night (or day) away. Highly recommend taking the time for some private classes - I did 10! The group lessons were fantastic too as it was a great way to meet people, learn different styles (not everyone will be a pro you are dancing with), and fun way to pick up new steps. Just drop by to arrange a class or instagram ahead of time! I am still smiling thinking of all the fun I had at Salsa & Mas!
Judy Lane Boyer: No lessons as advertised. Supposedly free lessons on Fridays at 8 pm. Several of my fellow students and I went and waited till 8. Nothing happened. I asked the instructor, & he said it would be at 830. We waited till almost 9, and nothing ever happened. Finally we left.Decided to come back on Monday to pay for group lessons that were advertised for Mondays and Wednesdays. I got there early, and they waved me in to wait as they finished up a couple of private lessons. I left to grab a drink and got back on time and waited. After a bit I asked the same instructor. He said they only do them on Wednesdays now. I showed him on the service menu where it said Mondays. He shrugged and told me to ask the other instructor. I did, and the second instructor shrugged and said they hadn't taken it off the sign yet.No apology or anything, even after I mentioned that I skipped gym to be there, had come from almost the opposite end of town, and that this was now the second time I came to a class they advertised that they were not actually offering. Just a suggestion that I come back Wednesday. The nerve!

Brandi Smith: What a great dance studio! Everyone is so friendly and they are all GREAT dancers. I first met one of the instructors here, Martin, at his free lessons on Mondays at El Barrio. His class was so fun my friends and I started taking private lessons with him. Martin is a great dancer and instructor. He is super fun to learn from but also takes his job seriously. You will definitely become a more confident dancer if you take lessons with him! With only a few weeks of learning salsa I feel comfortable going to local bars and dancing salsa socially.
Jean Jones: I had never danced in my life, but Salsa y Mas got me on my feet. The teachers are witty, patient, professional, and experienced. They’ll taylor the lessons to your level, and make you feel comfortable learning. Also, the free Friday night lesson, complete with drinks, is a wonderful way to meet people and learn more steps. I recommend this studio most highly, and I take lessons there every winter.

Jessalyn Waddell: Salsa Y Mas has the most variety of Latin rhythms to learn, including salsa on 1 and on 2, cha cha cha, boogaloo, bachata, tango, flamenco and waltz. They teach the history of the dance, as well as technique for both male and female. They also offer salsa nights with free lessons and drink specials. A highly recommended dance studio when coming to Guatemala!
