Sharon Torres: Malísimo lugar para aprender, no le llevan el seguimiento a los estudiantes, mal servicio al cliente y son insistentes e irrespetuosos con el pago, además de ser caro y no dar lo que ofrecen. ikeyial: If you are interested in learning Spanish and looking for a language school, look no further. I researched schools in Mexico, South America and everywhere in between. I looked on their websites and emailed so many of them with questions about their programs. What I learned is that they are not all created equally. I found MW Language School after having tried another school that didn’t meet my needs. I’m an Editor by trade, and also a former school teacher. I was looking to take high-quality classes, with an instructor who would individualize the lessons based on my interests and needs. I love that this school offers private and group lessons via Skype. You can also book classes online and create a schedule based on your specific availability. What also stood out about this school is that they offer a complimentary free lesson to potential students. It’s an hour long. Who does that? A school that cares and an administration that puts its best foot forward. After my free class, I emailed the school with various questions about the teachers, their teaching styles and availability. They were very responsive, detailed, professional and friendly. I have been studying with this school for a month now, three days per week. I’m impressed with the level of preparation my teacher has for each classes, the creativity used during lessons and overall quality of instruction. My teacher is Sonia. She encourages me and is genuinely happy when I progress and speak using longer sentences and with greater accuracy. She is patient and I have been able to improve my Spanish so much since I began working with her. I would encourage you to take classes here without hesitation. They also have engaging, high-quality social media pages. They are a well-run school from the administration to the teachers. I’m so thankful and feel really fortunate to have found this school.
Mimi Williams: I started taking online classes at MWL at the end of June and I LOVE it. I love that I am able to have 1 on 1 classes with my teacher at times that fit my work schedule. Lorena is amazing! It's noticeable how much my knowledge of the language, along with my written and speaking abilities, have increased since I started. I feel more confident when I need to speak Spanish compared to how I was before I started taking classes. Everyone on staff whom I've come in contact with is very professional. I would definitely recommend!

Trevor Diffley: This is the best way for a busy person to learn a new language hands down and the value oustrips the pricetag by 1000. Every week I get a lesson crafted to my needs and my current progress.For the past several years I've beaten myself up for being monolingual. I tried Rosetta Stone and Duolingo, which are both great, but ended up getting good at Rosetta Stone and Duolingo rather than getting good at Spanish.Every week I spend an hour with Sonia, and every week is an hour well spent. I intended to do this to prepare for a vacation, but even though that was cancelled I am going to keep going because I can feel the progress every single week.

Kathleen Taylor: I am a teacher in the United States. I have been taking classes with Sonia at Modern World Language for several months. Sonia is an excellent teacher. My learning experience has been high quality. She brought my level to almost intermediate in just a few months. I recommended this school to my friend and she is now taking weekly classes with Sonia. I highly recommend this institution for learning Spanish. The school offers professional, high quality learning opportunities for a wide range of levels and ages. The price is very reasonable for immersion classes.

cole moon: Studying at Modern World Language teaches you in a way most other schools don’t. It doesn’t matter if you are studying to become fluent or just want to learn the basics for traveling purposes; this is the school for you! I took a few online and in person Spanish classes with them before traveling recently and it really paid off! I will definitely continue to use Modern World Language to learn and grow during my travels and at home!

Christina Johnson: I emailed Niños de Guatemala and booked a Saturday tour. The $40 fee goes directly to the organization, which is fantastic! Tania was my tour guide and I feel so lucky to have met her! I felt like I was hanging out with a friend all morning and I’m so impressed with her independence, caring heart, and knowledge of Guatemala. Tania met me outside the house where I’m staying and together we took a ‘chicken bus’ to Ciudad Vieja to see the main school for Niños de Guatemala. Of course, it was Saturday and the students weren’t there (so if you’d like to visit it when they are, try to book a weekday tour). We discussed their programs and how they got the local families to take pride in the school. I am really impressed at how they’re changing the futures for these kids who otherwise, wouldn’t be able to afford to go to school (public school here is a bit expensive because parents have to buy uniforms and books for their kids every year). After the school, we walked to a factory where they turn old school buses from the US and other countries into ‘chicken buses’ (aka public transportation). It really was interesting to see how they basically remove everything and re-build it from scratch and finish with color and art. Very interesting! Then, Tania gave me a tour of town and our final stop was a private home where I learned how to make tortillas. The mother and daughter there were lovely and I truly enjoyed my time with them. Connecting with local Guatemalans always makes an experience more special for me, and I can’t thank Tania enough for being so kind and introducing me to an organization and people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Antigua or the surrounding towns. You can feel good knowing that you’re giving back to the community and you’ll learn something while doing it. And if you’re lucky enough to have Tania as your guide, then you’ll definitely enjoy your day! (Oh, and she speaks excellent English if your Spanish isn’t quite there yet!)
