Mercado Central: what do users think?
David Partridge
David Partridge: The place to find all of your hand-made goods of Guatemala. Leather goods, clothing, fancy shirts, shoes, purses, and much, much more. Great food stalls available and always busy with vendors and customers. A nice place to shop for the day.
Natalie Maritz
Natalie Maritz: I wish I would’ve came here my first night in GC to buy produce and meats. This place has everything - your souvenir stores, meat markets, produce stands, seasoning sections, food court with breakfasts and lunches… EVERYTHING!
Ahmet S
Ahmet S: Very colourful and beautiful market. It is unique experience to shop in such as local market with Guatemalan people.
Jorge Gonzalez
Jorge Gonzalez: What an incredible way to experience life through the eyes of the locals. One can find anything in the market, crafts, souvenirs, food, clothing, shoes, Piñatas and gifts.
Lorena Barrera-Shankle
Lorena Barrera-Shankle: Love the Central market...great food andAmazing place to get all my gifts. Love the culture the colors and history of this place!!
Kathy E. Sanati
Kathy E. Sanati: This is a really colourful and vibrant place that I surely recommend as long as you know that you will not be looking or shopping in peace and as long as you expect vendors to triple the price for you as a foreigner. I was greeted and asked to come in at every single stall that I passed ( and there are a lot!). Although vendors are not agresssive, I felt annoyed. I have watched recent Spanish YouTube videos of locals buying stuff there so I had an idea of the price but I was quoted 3 times more . I left after 30 min because I felt overwhelmed by the vendors and the inability to just look at something without having them pounce on me .I did see some very unique fruits and vegetables, unknown herbs and lots of colourful shoes, purses, cloths, clothing and crafts. It’s a must see but come prepared.
Pamela Curran
Pamela Curran: Loved it. Great food cheap. Bought alot of souvenirs and they were very fairly priced. But allow for negotiating. I got 2 purses for 60q
Charles Belk
Charles Belk: This place is neat! I have been to a lot of central markets around the world, and this one hangs well with them. Good selection. They love to haggle, and you can ultimately get a extremely great deal! I was able to get a customized, handmade bracelet for $3usd and a really cool oversize Guatemala coffee mug for $4.50 and a shot glass for $1.50, and a cool Guatemalan tshirt for $4 usd!
Christian Kunst
Christian Kunst: Perfect place to see the daily life here in Guatemala City. Lots of textile, pottery and wooden decorations - all handcrafted by local people. Lower floor is full of fruits and vegetables and local cuchinas. For all who are looking for a new experience. Would like to come again..

Antigua Guatemala Central Park: what do users think?
Beverly Adamson
Beverly Adamson: Wonderful park, great place to have a meal, people watch, or just soak up the culture. Pros: center of everything! Banks, food, churches - action is right there! Downside is all the buskers, constantly asking you to buy stuff and pushing their little ones to sell things.
Johan Palm
Johan Palm: A nice calm but lively town center in the middle of Antigua, we visited during new years and they had an open market with lots of local products to purchase. A beautiful church is located right next to the square in the old Spanish catholic style.
Mellen
Mellen: My third visit there and I always feel incredibly captivated by the energy and excitement of Antigua when visiting. I love the diversity of the crowd and the "people watching" is amazing. I could honestly spend a day sitting on a bench in central park and be entertained.
adrienne priess
adrienne priess: Beautiful Antigua square. Sights, sounds, vendors, foods, birds, cobble stone and so much more. History and colors fill the streets. Traditional village people and the new age city folks all come together here.
Susanna Valencia
Susanna Valencia: If you wish to go back in time, walk in streets of large stones and be captivated by all of the colonial achitecture, you cannot by pass this small town. Every corner of streets has remarkable cafés and baristas, enchanting folkloric boutiques and artisanal crafts that make you want to redecorate your whole house. The weather in much cooler so be sure to encourage the indigenous comunity and buy their hand made "chapin" sweater, it makes a wonderul souvenir and will keep you warm while your strolling around.

Plaza y Mercado: what do users think?
Emilie Walker
Emilie Walker: Quite the place! I recommend getting here the night before or early in the morning to see the vendors setting up before it gets too busy. We were interested in getting a mask, but were kind of disappointed in the quality (of the painting, the carving seemed good) so we didn’t end up getting one. Once it gets busy (around 11am) I’d recommend heading to the next place. Ideal if you have your own vehicle.
Koen
Koen: In addition to the famous Thursday and Sunday market, there is a daily market with souvenirs and fresh products in the market building and on the adjacent square.
paul morandi
paul morandi: IT IS a must do spot in Guatemala.Markets are done on Thursdays and Sundays, but the most activity is on Sundays. We were really impressed with the amount of streets, merchants and articles… the prices are not cheaper to be honest but just the beauty of the event is incredible !
Alberto Levy
Alberto Levy: Traditional Mayan market that combines food, merchandise and crafts. Thursday’s and Fridays are market days, and therefore much more crowded but with a larger variety of products. Rest of the days also display goods. Visit the churches on both sides of the market, as they are the main tourist attraction. Both combine catholic and Mayan rituals and both date from the XIV century.
Manuel Perez (Tecun)
Manuel Perez (Tecun): Beautiful market in Chichicastenango, Quiché.Fresh vegetables, meat, flowers, leaves for teas. Lost of Beautiful artenasan artifacts. You have to come and visit.
Zarate Luis
Zarate Luis: Amazing Place, you have to visit the temples where one of the Mayan books were discovered (The Popol Vuh)
Paz Francisco

Caoba Farms Restaurant: what do users think?
Allie Ashman
Allie Ashman: We walked to Caoba for brunch after our ATV excursion. The walk was far but easy, seeing that side of Antigua was nice. Even though it was overcast, the ambiance was beautiful - surrounded by nature. The Artisan Market at the front of the restaurant was cute and the vendors were friendly and had cute items. I loved the natural and organic aspect of the restaurant. Our waiter was accommodating and attentive. It started to rain and they even offered us an umbrella when we needed to go to the restroom. Now, the food. It was absolutely amazing. Probably one of the best brunches I have every eaten. The omelette was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The french toast was tasty and rich. Their homemade strawberry jam was delicious and not too sweet, it was perfect on the sourdough. Overall, it was a 11/10 experience between the food and the scenery. I hope I can come back soon!
Response: Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear that you had a great time=)
k2damen
k2damen: Honestly one of the best settings I’ve had whilst eating lunch. The restaurant and farm is situated at the base of the volcano not too far from town (you can walk it). Great service, live music, beautiful plants and vibe. I’d say it’s a bit pricey for what it is and the menu wasn’t very big but definitely worth checking out.
Response: Thank you for tñyour review! We are happy you enjoyed it=) Prices are correct considering the quality of the ingredients, we also don't charge a general entrance fre / parking fee. Welcome back!=)
Erin Freeman

Peter Buckland Merrett
Peter Buckland Merrett: Incredible food and setting. Very friendly service so worth the short wait for a table. Highly recommended.
Dorsa Fahami
Dorsa Fahami: We worked with Caoba Farms to host our welcome dinner for our wedding. Little did we know that this was the first private event they had ever held, but you would never be able to tell with how SEAMLESS everything went. First the food was the best we had in Antigua. We offered both vegan and meat options, and all of our meat eaters ended up going back for vegan seconds because the food was that good! People were literally talking about the soup for days! It was such a fun great and unique atmosphere to host a welcome dinner to Antigua! We were worried people would have a hard time since the floor was dirt, but honestly the ambience and the place was so pretty it didnt end up mattering! This is a great place for events because it also has a small stage for speeches, and it feels so private and exclusive! A must visit in Antigua!
Response: Thank you so much for your review, we enjoyed having you and we are so happy everyone enjoyed themselves=)
Yugal Nagda
Yugal Nagda: Amazing food. They use all home grown organic vegetable. Michelada was amazing. Food is reasonably priced. Wonderful atmosphere
Leilani Yats
Leilani Yats: Caoba Farms is a staple in Antigua for anyone ready to enjoy a farm-to-table experience, family environment, or purchase locally sourced products helping communities and the environment. My favorite part is an after meal stroll through the farm, checking out the mariposa space and saying hello to the farm animals.

Antigua, Guatemala Cathedral: what do users think?
Jessica Knowlden
Jessica Knowlden: Incredible sight. Thank goodness I figured out the ruins are around the corner and not just on the street face. A ticket costs 20 Q and is well worth it. I went in early on a Monday morning and it was completely empty. All I could hear were the pigeons.
girina koo
girina koo: A very grand and beautiful place. There is a small entrance fee but it is worth paying. A unique place made up of several arches. I think it would be great to visit at night, and I would like to visit it next time a concert is held here.
Kristen L. Matulis
Kristen L. Matulis: I visited the Catedral de San José a few years ago while in Antigua, Guatemala and it was an awesome experience. This parish is absolutely beautiful and it’s 100% worth checking-out while you’re in Antigua. Take a walking tour if you can, as this place has incredible history. You must go see the ruins of the original cathedral when you visit as well - it’s amazing to witness the history here! 10/10 recommend!
Mario Uribe
