La Sala: what do users think?

srimanthula surya: This place has great vibe. Good music, drink and ambiance. Enjoyed grooving my weekend here. I recommend this place if you visit Antigua

samuel dean: Crazy, hectic, loud and perfect! If you are looking foe an awesome club with a lot of locales this is the spot. Get a bucket of beers so you don't have to go the bar a lot.

Samantha Hernandez: My fiancée and I came here on a Tuesday night and we had such a great time with the bartenders! Gabriel created a new drink on the spot (El Gabo) and introduced us to a shot called Cerebro 🧠. Great vibes at this bar!

Sharay Elder: Great bartenders Alejandro, Baby, and I'm going to call him Houston because I forgot his name, and the other bartender(didn't get her name) were all so friendly and warm. Drinks were great. Happy hour is awesome. 2 house drinks for Q25!! Music is a mix and keeps you moving. Would definitely recommend coming again. Oh, and the Chilli papas are bomb! Try them.

Juan Carlos Romero: It is a good bar to go dancing but maybe they could mix music with another genders like Latin Salsa

Filip Klíma: Great bar with broad offer of various drinks, which must satisfy everybody. Even water is available. Evenings, moreover, one can have a pleasure of a Salsa dancing. On midnight the dancing floor is full of pairs, enjoying their favorite movements. One of the “must see” in Antigua.

Jason Groves (withKai): Great drinks, great music, lots of fun!

Theo Maryeski: Great space, still somewhat lively for the covid era and the only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is the lack of a non alcoholic beer. Besides that everything is great. Small but nice menu with a dance floor on the first floor and a nice patio upstairs

Alex Arriaza: This place is fascinating. The downstairs is more of a dance club type of feel and the rooftop terrace is more laid back. The service was great, friendly and welcoming. The drinks were moderately priced in quetzales. Very good place for friends and fun times.

Jose Pelaez: Nice place..I will go back again...

New Sensation Salsa Studio: what do users think?

Estrella Asturias Marcel: The best weeks were the two that I was with New Sensation. Everyone surrounding me in group lessons was very polite and friendly, and the instructors were all excellent at working with me on the technicalities. My time there was not only enjoyable but also incredibly educational, and I noticed improvements within the few time I was there. Much appreciation for the enjoyable experience. Thanks Nancy!
Response: ❤️❤️

Armando Ciprian: Traveled to Antigua to visit a friend and he took me to New Sensation Salsa Studio. WOW!! What an icing on the cake to my trip! So much fun and so helpful. Nancy, Fatima and Jose are all so knowledgeable and passionate for what they do. This is a great studio for all levels and styles. Definitely check them out!

Adriel Alstrom: I had the best experience here. I did mostly private lessons and a few group classes and I loved them both. I was set up with a fantastic partner who was good for my height. Nancy was really patient with me and helped me get the correct form down. Her daughter Fatima helped me with ladies styling and shines, I feel she boosted my confidence and form. Victor is another great teacher for partner work. I wasn't a beginner, but I felt I improved so much in the three weeks I was there. I will definitely try and make it back down for more lessons!

Daniella Ward: Absolutely breathtaking! I've been taking lessons from Nancy since I was younger. She has complete Rhythm! Knows exactly what she's doing. Total sweetheart! Ive danced from other instructors in Antigua and I'd rather go to Nancy. Others are great but Nancy forms a connection with you and genuinely cares for you snd where you are at in dance 💃. Te amo Nancy!
Response: ❤️❤️

McCall Calloway: I came to New Sensation as part one of their free weekly group class, and signed up for 5 individual classes. It was a highlight of our time in Antigua- so much fun! Jose was a great teacher.
Response: ❤️❤️

Karen Velasco: The best salsa studio in Antigua! 🙌 my husband and I were beginners but now we understand the music, we know how to create sequences and most important, we feel comfortable dancing in public.
Response: ❤️❤️

Sam Delo: Really fun class. We tried a free session. Victor was very patient, encouraging and had a great attitude. Will definitely do it again.

Tom Lloyd: I took a class one day and ended up taking classes for 6 more months! Amazing school amazing teachers

Anna Kraus: Best salsa studio in Antigua! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer, you will benefit from your time spent with teachers Nancy, Fatima, or José Carlos. I walked in with zero experience, and they welcomed me like family. They will encourage you and teach you to be the best salsa dancer you can be. Great for international visitors! I can’t emphasize enough how much I appreciate my time at New Sensation. Do yourself a favor and sign up for a class now!

Gerta C: A great place to learn or improve your salsa/bachata. Nancy and her team are all such good teachers, friendly and great dancers. I only took a week of classes due to my time constraints but I feel like I learnt so much. Will definitely be back whenever I’m in Antigua again
Response: Thank you very much ❤️

Zina Abu-Haydar: Super fun spot. Amazing music, great vibe, and definitely invites the dancing mood. I didn't try them but my friends said the margaritas were good :). Def recommend for dancing!
Response: Thank you Zina ! check out the days when we have Free Salsa lessons.

G P: Incredible live blues music 6-8 on Friday’s and Saturday’s. Enjoyed the music upstairs as I ate. I should have stuck around for the salsa music that went on after!

Alejandro De la Cruz: Beautiful place, nice atmosphere, and awesome people. The live music is the best, every night at 9pm you can have a blast. Affordable prices, good food and drinks.
Response: Wow man, thank you for this great review !!!

gal cohen: The food is OK, I ate in better places. But the great thing about this place is the salsa live music and dancing! I highly recommend to go dance there!!
Response: We will try to do better. Thank you for letting us know.

Smith Family: Great place for music, food and drinks. Music nightly, salsa and a small dance floor. Multiple dining areas and a rooftop terrace. We ate early in the peaceful front area with a water fountain and plenty of light.

Sterlainie Barbosa: The service was excellent. I had dinner and the food was delicious. Prices was ok for filet mignon 😊 I loved the vibe of the bar with live music but if you want to have a quiet meal time this is not the place for you.
Response: Thank you Sterlainie for visiting us and for the nice coment. !

Hendrik 0: The food was not great even though the price is kind of high. Most of the drinks we tried to order were also not available at the moment. Waiters were not very friendly either. On the other hand the live music was awesome and dancing Salsa is just something you gotta do here, you'll have a great time. TLDR: Drink and dance, have dinner somewhere else :)
Response: Sorry we fail. We are going to improve our quality.

J Bannink: Free salsa lessons certain evenings. Small dance floor but fun group of people every time and great instructor. If you’re tall (aka above average Guatemalan height) make sure to duck under the doors in the back! Cozy atmosphere with cool pictures and band posters everywhere.
Response: Thank you !!

Joshua Palmer: Excellent food and great service! Definitely a must in Antigua!
Response: Im glad we met your expectations ! thank you.

Bobbi M: If you come here for the food, you'll be disappointed. The flavors are bland. They have great drink deals, live, music and friendly attentive staff. You can listen to live music and salsa dance near the bar after 9pm or go upstairs for dinner. I recommend coming here for music and drinks. Fun place to be. Great environment 🙂
Response: Thank you for your comments ! What is your name ?

Salsa Y Más - Dance Studio: what do users think?

Amanda Crichton: My favorite salsa studio in Antigua. They offer free group classes Mondays from 5pm-6pm, and Thursdays/Fridays at 8* pm, which are always fun. The Monday classes are more formal whereas the Thursday/Friday classes start later (hint: usually not on time) but are worth the wait. The instructors do a great job of teaching and have a great energy in general. Always a good time. I took a private lesson with Martin at the end of my stay in Antigua and it was a blast. He will meet you at whatever level you're at dance-wise and I'll definitely be returning when I'm back in town.

Petra Kelly-Voicu: I honestly could not recommend this place enough. My partner and I stayed in Antigua for 2 months, because I love dancing (3 years of experience, mostly in Sensual Bachata and some Salsa) but there is no dance studio anywhere near his hometown so I wanted to find a professional to teach him both dance genres. He had zero dance experience when we started, and 20 hours of private lessons later he learned so much and so rapidly thanks to the attention and expertise the instructors here were able to provide us. I also learned how to be a better follower and polished my technique thanks to the amazing one-on-one attention I was able to get here. We mostly took classes with Manolo, but all the instructors at Salsa Y Mas are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. There are free group classes on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30pm, which are a great way to meet new people and to keep learning. We made some wonderful friendships here and I'm really sad to have to leave - I will definitely miss this dance school and the people!

Erika Wasserman: The best way to learn salsa!!!! Too bad you can't upload videos here - I could show you the before and after videos! I stayed in Antiqua for 5 weeks taking Spanish classes in the morning and salsa in the afternoon both with private lessons with Martin and with group classes (Thurs,Friday,Sat nights). Martin provides a positive dance environment that makes you feel like you can dance the night (or day) away. Highly recommend taking the time for some private classes - I did 10! The group lessons were fantastic too as it was a great way to meet people, learn different styles (not everyone will be a pro you are dancing with), and fun way to pick up new steps. Just drop by to arrange a class or instagram ahead of time! I am still smiling thinking of all the fun I had at Salsa & Mas!

Katie Pendred: Salsa y Mas is the best in Antigua; it is more than just a dance studio, it is a family! Martin is passionate about his students progression and is so much fun to learn from. He teaches salsa on1 and salsa on2.. when I arrived I did not dance much on2 and left dancing confidently on2. Also the owner Menolo sometimes does Rueda lessons, these are very fun and a great way to meet people! Reach out to Martin and he will give you all the info on classes! Take privates with Martin.. you will not regret it!

Brandi Smith: What a great dance studio! Everyone is so friendly and they are all GREAT dancers. I first met one of the instructors here, Martin, at his free lessons on Mondays at El Barrio. His class was so fun my friends and I started taking private lessons with him. Martin is a great dancer and instructor. He is super fun to learn from but also takes his job seriously. You will definitely become a more confident dancer if you take lessons with him! With only a few weeks of learning salsa I feel comfortable going to local bars and dancing salsa socially.

Jean Jones: I had never danced in my life, but Salsa y Mas got me on my feet. The teachers are witty, patient, professional, and experienced. They’ll taylor the lessons to your level, and make you feel comfortable learning. Also, the free Friday night lesson, complete with drinks, is a wonderful way to meet people and learn more steps. I recommend this studio most highly, and I take lessons there every winter.

Rienje Veenhof: Salsa y más is a great dance school! We took 12 couple lessons with Sergio and he is a great teacher. He was really patient and I really feel like we learned a lot! Also the salsa evenings are fun with good value cocktails! (:

Jessalyn Waddell: Salsa Y Mas has the most variety of Latin rhythms to learn, including salsa on 1 and on 2, cha cha cha, boogaloo, bachata, tango, flamenco and waltz. They teach the history of the dance, as well as technique for both male and female. They also offer salsa nights with free lessons and drink specials. A highly recommended dance studio when coming to Guatemala!

Judy Lane Boyer: No lessons as advertised. Supposedly free lessons on Fridays at 8 pm. Several of my fellow students and I went and waited till 8. Nothing happened. I asked the instructor, & he said it would be at 830. We waited till almost 9, and nothing ever happened. Finally we left. Decided to come back on Monday to pay for group lessons that were advertised for Mondays and Wednesdays. I got there early, and they waved me in to wait as they finished up a couple of private lessons. I left to grab a drink and got back on time and waited. After a bit I asked the same instructor. He said they only do them on Wednesdays now. I showed him on the service menu where it said Mondays. He shrugged and told me to ask the other instructor. I did, and the second instructor shrugged and said they hadn't taken it off the sign yet. No apology or anything, even after I mentioned that I skipped gym to be there, had come from almost the opposite end of town, and that this was now the second time I came to a class they advertised that they were not actually offering. Just a suggestion that I come back Wednesday. The nerve!

정재훈: This is excellent place to learn salsa ,bachata y others. There are good teachers who also speak english. Also I could paticipar in free lesson on monday, thursday, friday and saturday with other forigner.

Frank Arango Salsa Studio: what do users think?

Kelsey Sanabria: Frank is awesome. Good energy but most importantly a great teacher. I started from nothing and now I feel confident to dance salsa with anyone. I also really enjoy his style of teaching, he isn't pushy and pays attention to the details. His studio is also beautiful! I most definitely will be getting another package to train and improve my already great skills. Thank you so much Frank! Follow him on Instagram!!!

Petra Drahoňovská (Career Designer): Since 2014 I have been taking salsa classes with Frank, whenever I come back to Antigua Guatemala (2 times per year). I like his style as a dancer and also his approach as a teacher. He has helped me to improved my foundation to be able to grow as a dancer: now, after 8 months of trainings with Frank, I really enjoy social dancing with everyone.

samuel dean: There was 4 of us, all very very beginners in salsa. Frank was patient, had funny jokes and loves salsa. We feel like professionals now.

Ruben Pelckmans: Super good teacher. Loved the classes 💪 keep up the good energy Frank 🚀
